TELEGRAM from the Governor of Hong Kong to the Secretary

of State for the Colonies

Dated 16th August, 1927.

(Received, Colonial Office, 12.35 p.m. 16th August, 1927).

My despatch of 14th July No.328 Chinese

Extradition (?) Ordinance I shall be glad if this can be

treated as a matter of extreme urgency. In addition to

case mentioned in paragraph 6 I have received two requests

for extradition of criminals one from Canton and one from

Amoy. At present deportation is only course open and that

leaves destination to fugitive's choice. I fear Colony

will become the target for justifiable Obloquy if it

fails to help Chinese authorities in these cases. In

print of bill which accompanied my despatch of 14th July

word Government should be inserted at the end of line 7

of section 2 (a) between words "the" and "actually".
