2. For the purpose of calculating the amount payable under this Minute as pension or other form of retiring allowance or gratuity, but subject as mentioned in this Minute, there shall be added to the officer's
salary any personal allowances equivalent to salary, but no other emolument whatever: Every officer serving
on or after the
who becomes entitled to pension or other form of
retiring allowance or gratuity under this Minute, will, if he is either eligible for rent allowance or
entitled to free quarters, but not otherwise, be deemed to draw, in respect of rent a personal allowance equivalent to salary; such personal allowance will be reckoned as equal to one-sixth of the salary of the officer, or to £200 a year, in the
case of a sterling salary, or to $2,000 a year, in the case of a dollar salary, whichever sum is less:
Provided that no personal allowance which is or may be granted or continued with a stipulation that the same shall not be pensionable shall be so added; and provided further that this paragraph shall not apply to any officer whose case is otherwise expressly provided for in paragraph 8 of clause No. 1 of this
Minute.
