The Pension Minute is amended as follows,
(1) by the substitution of the following sub-paragraph for
sub-paragraph (2) of paragraph 1 of clause No.1,-
"(2) Subject to sub-paragraph (1) of this
paragraph, and to the other provisions of this Minute, every public officer who has served ten years or upwards may be awarded, on his retirement,
a pension at the rate of one seven-hundred-and-
twentieth of his annual salary for each completed
month of service, and if he, being of the class
ordinarily recruited in the United Kingdom, has
completed twenty five years tropical service and has
attained the age of fifty years then the rate will
be two seven-hundred-and-twentieths of his annual
salary for each completed month of service there-
after; to the computation at the said rate or rates
five-sixtieths of the officer's salary will be added:
Provided that in no case shall the total pension.
awarded to a public officer exceed forty-sixtieths
of the salary of such officer." and
(2) by the substitution of the following clause for clause
No.12,
"No. 12.
1. In determining 'salary' for the purposes of this
Minute, the salary of the substantive appointment
held by the officer at the date of his death or
retirement will be taken if he has held such office
or an office with the same salary for a period of three years immediately preceding such date; other- wise the average amount of the salary of the substantive appointments held by the officer during the three years immediately preceding his death or
retirement will be taken.
