It is not an agreeable task to admit

that one is financially embarrassed, and

in our two letters to the Honourable the

Colonial Secretary we purposely refrained

from stressing this point as we were

convinced of the justice of our claims on

other grounds. As however those claims

have been disallowed we are compelled

humbly to petition you to alleviate our

present financial embarrassment.
