With reference to our conversation of this
morning, I have the honour to enclose herewith
certified copies of my letters No.535 and 542
of the 24th and 25th instant respectively, ad- dressed to the Honourable the Captain Superin-
tendent of Police.
The liberation of Mr. Chang Jr., mentioned
therein, is, of course, of great importance.
There exists a great chance that he has already
been done away with.
The information supplied by him is of the greatest importance. A plot exists to murder
His Excellency the Governor General of Nether-
land India, Jonkheer Dr. A.C.D. de Graeff and
the Attorney General of the Netherland Colonies
by poison (digitaline), but, as far as I am
aware, no attempts on their lives have been made
as yet. The rewards for the crimes have not
been voted yet by the P.K.I. at Canton (Whampoa),
but they are to be in the neighbourhood of f.5000.
