conditions precedent required by Section referring to an occasion of emergency
3. The condition/appears to have been
inserted after the War as an attempt to
combine the provisions of the original
Ordinance with the wording of the Imperial
Aliens Order, 1920, but the retention of
this condition would appear to be
unnecessary, and I would suggest that, if
you see no objection, it would be advisable
for the Ordinance to be amended by the
deletion of the opening words of Section
3(2) from "on any occasion" to "danger".

The correspondence with the Straits.
Settlements Government, and the foregoing
suggestion which arises out of it, deals
however, only with the deportation of aliens
and the deportation of British subjects is
