I have the honour to acknowledge

the receipt of your Secret despatch of the

29th March, enclosing a copy of a letter

from the Netherland Consul General at

Hong Kong on the subject of an alleged plot

to murder the Governor General and the

Attorney General of the Netherland East

Indies. I have read your despatch with

great interest, and have caused a copy to

be forwarded to the Foreign Office for the

information of the Secretary of State for

Foreign Affairs.

Shortly after receiving your

despatch I received a despatch from the

Governor of the Straits Settlements

concerning certain Javanese Communists who

had taken refuge in Singapore. Orders of

banishment were issued against these

persons
