The question which Gubbay has
raised about the premium on bank notes
on Hong Kong certainly seems worth
looking into, and we are accordingly
asking the Governor of Hong Kong for a
memorandum on the subject, with his
detailed observations on Mr. Hopkins's
memorandum.
I am afraid we have nowhere
available anything in a handly form
explaining the Hong Kong currency
system which I could either send you or
refer you to.
If Mr. Gubbay would care to come
here and have a talk about the situation
in Hong Kong after Easter, I should be
