With reference to my telegram of 22nd

November, 1926, on the subject of the appointment of school- masters, I have the honour to state that provision has been made in the 1927 Estimates (page 60) for an increase of four

British masters and to request that steps may be taken for the early filling of these posts.

The qualifications generally required are those set forth in my confidential despatch of 3rd February,

1926. Two of the four should be able to teach chemistry and

physics in addition to general subjects.

A copy of the conditions of engagement, embodying the revised scales of salary as approved by you in your telegram of 27th November, 1926, is enclosed. requested that the improved prospects offered by this revision may be brought to the notice of possible candidates.
