W. C. Hankinson Esq.,
Present.
Dear Mr Hankinson,
I am much obliged to you for your letter of yesterday. I
much regret to say that owing to family reasons my son Robert has not been
able to leave Hongkong and will not be likely to leave even at the end of
the year. The chances are that he will come next year, and when the time
comes I will give you and the War Office ample notice.
In the meantime I should feel greatly obligea if you
woulu kinaly obtain for me from the War Office, a prospectus of the
Sandhurst College with full particulars regarding age limit, terms of the
course, entrance examination and other qualifications necessary.
I should be obliged if you could tender my apologies to
the War Office for not having informed them before that my son was unable
to come just yet. I was under the impression that the original enquiries
were for the near furture and that I need not notify them until the time
came when my son was ready.
Thanking you in anticipation,
EH/RHT
Yours sincerely,
R Hodiny
