Extract from home office letter dated 26th August, 1927.
I enclose a copy of a Metropolitan olice report
regarding NU Dhai Lad. We haven't yet heard from the Foreign office about what seems to be Lai's declaration of alienage,
out meanwhile I should be glad to learn whether he is attached
to the Tank Corps and whether (if he has become an alien) you
would wish him to be exempted from Fart il of the liens
urder, 1920. In the circumstances it does not seem certain
that we should like to grant exemption.
