With reference to your letter of the 16th
of February 1926 relative to the refund of the sum
of £114,317.18.9. overpaid by the Hong Kong Government in respect of Military Contributions, I am directed to forward for the information of the Army
Council the enclosed copies of confidential correspondence with the Governor, concerning the abandonment of the scheme to transfer the Murray Barracks site to the Hong Kong Government and the recommendations that have now been made for closing the special Reprovision Account which was opened to deal with the financial details in connection with the various surrenders which were proposed under that
scheme.
