to the Consulting Engineers for a
considered opinion. A copy of the relative
corres. with the C.A, for the Cols. is
enclosed for your information, from which
it will be seen that the opinion of the
Consulting Engineers is on the whole
favourable to the proposals but that
some fears are entertained that main-
tenance dredging may be required at
intervals.
3. I observe from your telegram
of the 4th of May that the proposed
stated libe
channel, which is/in line with the general
flow of the tide, is regarded as likely
to maintain itself. I should be glad,
however, if you would consider the
remarks made by the Consulting Engineers
and inform me whether you adhere to this
view, or whether there is any other
locality from which the further filling$
required for the proposed reclamation
might not be obtained with less risk.
