the Municipality, and (2) as to the attitude of his

Japanese and American colleagues "s to the anxiety

shown by their respective Governments lest their

nationals elsewhere in China should be endangered

by our movements:

(c) That a further meeting of the Cabinet should be held

on Monday, February 7th, at 11.30.a.m. to consider

Sir Miles Lampson'a reply.

(a) That the Secretary of State for War should make

arrangements for retarding the arrival of the Indian

Mixed Brigade at Shanghai, either by ordering

the transports to proceed at slow speed or to make

a short stay at Hong Kong, or both, subject, of

course, to no risks being run from a medical point

of view on the score of proper ventilation of the

ships.
