The Governor reports that the

amount estimated to be spent on the

aerodrome, exclusive of the cost of

acquisition prior to the 31st of March

1928, is $1,000,000, which includes

the cost of filling in hullahs,

constructing the sea wall and executing

part of the dredging and reclamation.

If the AirCouncil still find themselves

unable to contribute towards the cost

of these works during the current

financial year, the best solution of

the difficulty would seem to be for

the amount to be advanced from Hong

Kong funds, subject to an undertaking

that the full amount of the contribu-

tion from H.M.G., on the basis proposed

above, will be paid during the financial

year 1928-29. The Governor has been

consulted on this suggestion and
