Paraphrase telegram from the Governor of Hong Kong
to the Secretary of State for the Colonies.
Dated 1st February, 1927.
(Received Colonial Office 10.11 a.m.,1st Feb.1927)
Your telegram of 28th January, site for aerodrome.
No question of option on land arises. Kaitak Company cannot sell to others except with permission of the Colonial Government. Exact cost of resumption which is mostly represented by the value of reclamation done is being discussed with the Company. There is no other site for an aerodrome. As the Colony's safety and commercial progress demand facilities for aviation and as the present trade depression affords a favourable
opportunity for resumption, I urge strongly that
purchase be made without delay.
