I am to acquaint you, for the information of the
Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, that the Council have
been in correspondence with the Lords Commissioners of the
Admiralty relative to the provision on the Kowloon site of
accommodation and repair facilities for the aircraft now in
The #ecommodation in question consists of 1-
Ket shedding for aircraft and personnel, a petrol installation and a arane and concrete pathway}

the erection of accommodation for an engine repair section, fitting electric light and power and providing machine tools.
The work comprised in (a) appears to be of purely
temporary construction and has probably been completed by now
That included in (b) has not yet been commenced and the
Council are awaiting the views of the Admiralty as to
whether the repair section could be accommodated in the
Dockyard at Hong Kong, and as to the time which would be
required for the construction of the accommodation proposed
at Kowloon.
Having regard to the fact that the provision of new
defence facilities œ Hong Kong requires to be considered in
connection with the provisions of the Washington Naval Treat
