4. As will be seen from the enclosed copy
Treasury Letter of 22nd April 1927, the Treasury
have accepted my findings and have made the necessary adjustments in the Accounts for the year 1926, which
is briefly, that a sum of $2,307,700.60 was required
to be placed to Revenue, and the resultant 20%
amounting to $461,540.13, has been placed to a

In conclusion, I consider it a matter of
great congratulation to both the Treasury and to
this department that throughout this most controversial matter, covering such a long period, that the relations
between the two departments have never been in the slightest degree other than of a most amicable nature, and I wish to express my appreciation both to Ar. Dallin and Mr. Laughan of this department for what I consider a most creditable performance in analysing the Treasury
Accounts and submitting to the Treasury the necessary
detailed yearly adjustments which enabled the Treasury
to finally balance the Accounts, although many of the
subsidiary documents, such as transfers for past
years had been destroyed.
