The import and sale of cocaine are prohibited except

for medicinal purposes. Only pharmaceutical chemists may purchase

cocaine from the Military Pharmacy, which is alone allowed to

import it from abroad. Moreover, the maximum annual quantity

which the Military Pharmacy may import through Nova, Goa, the

only customs office through which importation is permitted, has

been fixed at 2 kgs.

The use of morphine is permitted only for medical

purposes, but the quantities which may be imported are unrestricted.

As there is no manufacture of drugs, the law provides

for no restriction in the matter of exports, which are non-existent.

Narcotic products, such as "Ganis", "Dang" and "Charas"

etc., are someti es imported in small quantities from British

Indie, under permits from the British police but the imports and

sales are inconsiderable.
