5th) The importation can only be made on production of
the requisitions signed by the Opium Administrator
and certified by the Inspector, specifying the
number of chests to be imported.
6th) The Hong Kong Goverment undertakes not to authorize
the exportation of any quantity of opium, except that specified in the requisitions made by the
Macau Opium Administration.
7th) The shipment of raw opium from Hong Kong to Macau
will be accompanied by the export permit issued by
the Hong Kong Government, giving the number of chests quality of opium and the name of the steamer on
which the chests have been shipped.
8th) An import certificate issued by the Inspector will
be attached to the export permit, on terms of the
art.VI of the Conference held in Geneve on 11th
February 1925.
9th) The two Governments undertake to suppress the
illicit of opium and also to assist each other in
this connection.
I trust that the above conditions will meet
with Your Excellency's approval and shall be happy to have
Your Excellency's views on the matter.
For the time being and until some definite
arrangement is made for the supply of raw opium to this Colony, I shall be pleased to know if Your Excellency will
be kind enough as to lend to the Macau Government 50 chests
of Benares raw opium, to be deducted from the 225 chests
under considerations:
