With reference to your despatch No. 461 of the
24th ultimo containing copies of correspondence relative ·
the opium traffic and inter alia that from indo-China to
Maoso, I have the honour to report that the "deculo" of
today's date states that Dr. Augusto de Vasconcellos when
lately in Paris moved the French Minister for the Colonie:
to telegraph to the Government of Indo-China directing it
to furnish to Kacao all the opium that that colony require
The "Seoulo" further states that as a result of Dr. de
Vasconcellos' action an agreement in regard to the supply
of opium has been signed by Indo-China and Macao.
