Sir,
Robbery from Too Yee Swee's House.
With reference to the robbery from Teo Yee Swee's house, I
have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the
13th. instant forwarding a list of the stolen artioles, which was
trensmitted to the police office with instructions that the fire-
arms and ammunition taken by them from Zeo's house should be all
returned.
The Chief of Police now states that on receipt of my orders
he summoned Teo Tee Swee to exhibit his gun licences for inspec-
tion on which his firearme &c. would be returned to him. To
the surprise of the police, however, Teo did not obey the
summons, an attitude which they find quite inexplicable and they
are now suspecting that he possesses no licence. Further, the
police find that Teo Tee Swee's list of firearms &o. does not
tally with their own.
The police have sent me a list of the firearms &c., of
which I now forward you copy « I have the honour to request that
you will instruct Teo Yee Swee to send his gun licences for
inspection.
