Robbery from Teo Yee Swee's House.

With reference to your allegation that the police treated
Too Yee Swen brutally, the Chief of Police rerorts :
The robbery took place in the middle of the night. The
police, seeing that Teo Yee Swee was nervous and flurried and
that his utterances were wild and excited, became suspicious
and accordingly took him to the police station.
There they
examined him and escertained the facts and then relessed him.
He received no ill-treatment.
However, as the officer in
charge of the No. 4 Folice Station failed to carry out his
duties in a proper manner, he has been relieved of his post.
Ch'en Te-shih, dh'en Nu-tzu, luang Jung-shen, three of the
robbers in this case, have been arrested and shot.
The police could not prevent the robbery from happening,
all they could do was to exert every endeavour to arrest the
robbers. The officer in charge of Eo. 4 Station has been
relieved of his post, and Teo Yee Swee's annoyance at being
taken to the Police Station is no longer justifiable.
I have the honour to request that you will inform Teo
Tee Swee accordingly.
