Important Conversation between Li Chai Shan and
our Reporter.
The objection of reforming Kwangtung for revolut-
ionary purposes.
Opposition to the illegal Special Council at Nanking.
Welcoming Wong Ching Wai's return to Canton to admin-
ister the Government.

Of late, since the return of the 2nd Army from
victory, the Communists have spread many idle rumours
with a view to causing dissension among our military leaders.
They have either alleged that the return of the 2nd. Army
was intended for certain purposes, or that Li Chai Sham
would be compelled by the 2nd. Army to take to flight.
Later when the officers of the end. Army had declared
their support of Li Chai Sham and had issued an Anti-
Communist manifesto in the name of the Army, the intrigues
of the Comunists were entirely revealed, and the minds
of people ultimately reverted to perce. But during the
past two days a rumour was still current that Li Chai Sham
had left Canton for Hongkong with Tsu King Tong and his
family. In order to give true information to the public, our reporter, through the introduction of Mr. Lai Man Yam, a military officer and intimete friend of General Li, had
an interview with the latter at his residence in Man Tak
Road, East, at 4 p.m. on the 6th. instant. Their conversa-
tion lasted half an hour, and an outline of their converse-
tion was communicated to us by special wire (see special
telegrams from Canton in our yesterday's issue). We now
