been a Chinese capital on several occasions when the
independence and freedom of our Chinese racefere
being sought in war, the foundation of our country
is thereby firmly and permanently laid, and as the
distinction between right and wrong has now been made,
genuineness and falsehood will be easily distinguishable.
In view of my great responsibility towards the Kuomintang
and Nation, I of course will do my utmost to support
our real nationalist Government in Nanking with all
my National Revolutionary Troops and to eliminate the
false Nationalist Government in Wuhan monopolized by
the Communists.
In the interest of our efforts for the Kuomintang
and the salvation of our country, I hereby make the
following four engagements to you all in the National
Revolutionary Army:-

To recognize the Central Government and support
it with all sincerity. This Government has been
established in Nanking with the unanimous support
of the Provincial Kuomintang Departments, the
people and the revolutionary troops in Kiangsu,
Chekiang, Fukien, Kwangtung, Kwangsi, Szechwun,
Yunnan, Kweichow, Anhui, Kiang si and the Northern
and Western provinces, and it is capable of freely performing its functions. The Central Government in Nanking is the only real Central Government
of our Kuomintang and our National Revolutionary
Troops should obey it.
To fortify our spirit so as not to be misled.
Our National Revolutionary Troops have all along fought in unity in the interest of our National
Revolution, and should on no account now fall a
victim to the wicked intrigues of the Communists
to
