to leave the arduous responsibility for the National

Revolution to the loyal members of our Kuomintang, the

faithful followers of the true "Three Aspects of Democracy"

and all the Chinese revolutionary masses.

Since I was sworn in on the Northern Expedition of our

Revolution, I have never failed to be active in pursuit of th

the objects laid down of our late President. Our National

revolutionary troops are promoting the benefits of the masses

and their interests of living. Therefore our forces are not only Republicans but are also the true forces of the people

themselves.

Hunam and

With the support of our masses, our national revolutionary army gained successive victories. Hupeh were first taken after the overthrow of the obstinate

militarist Wu Pei-fu. Next we overcame Kiangsi, Fukien, Chekiang and Anhui, and eliminated the cunning militarist Sun Chun-fang. Then we occupied Shanghai and Nanking, and

thoroughly defeated the cruel militarist Chang Chung Chong. Such provinces as Szechwun, Kweichow, Yunnan, Shensi, and

Kansu all flocked to the standard of the national revolution-

ary army. The fading influences of the Northern Militarists are no better than decayed bones in a grave, and we swept them out as easily as we would root up decayed trees. The national revolutionary troops met with the support of the people wherever they went, and were heartily welcomed with drinks and provisions. Our troops have not only committed no mischief to the people, and have also loved them as brothers. Therefore cries of "our beloved soldiers" were

heard everywhere.

Unexpectedly the Communist parasites in our Kuomintang under the sign-board of our Party, and under the protection

of our national revolutionary troops made every endeavour,
