The reason of this is very clear.
The conditions of our late President's Government at Nanking
in the 1st year of the Republic were similar to the condit-
ions at the time of the Tai Ping Tin Kwok (Tai Ping
Rebellion). All the Kuomintang members thinking that the
establishment of the Capital at Nanking would enable them to
settle down in peace, were eager for power and wealth and
went in for vices such as sexual pleasure, gambling, and
luxury in food and clothing, with the result that they
contracted the bad habits of officials and gentry and took
no heed of the "Three Aspects of Democracy" or of Socialism.
Under such circumstances how can China be saved from
destruction and our Kuomintang from defeat? Therefore I
must beg that all of you will realize that we still have our
final responsibility. Our Comrades!
