23rd May, 1927)
Li Lit Kwan does not wish China to become a Second
Mongolia.
He delivered a speech at Ku Chow seriously denouncing
Communism.
Communism is a despotic Socialism.
The Communists desire to turn China into another
Mongolia, and to make us Chinese slaves to Russia.
They have made the peasants and workmen their tools
in order to create disturbances in China.
If we allow the Communists freedom, we shall be deprivedl
of our own.
Li Lit Kwan, Chairman of the Provincial Goverment
in Kiangsi, passed through Kuchow in the afternoon of the
6th instant on his way to Nanking on some Government
business. The various associations in Kuchow held a Grand
Mass Meeting at the Kuomintang Department to welcome him,
and Li made a speech which we now publish below:-
"I was born and brought up in Kiangsi. This is
the first time I have been to Chekiang, a very worthy province in history. I came here in order to recruit my
health at Sai Wu, and then to proceed to Nanking on business,
Now the Kuomintang Department has convened a grand meeting
of the masses to welcome me on passing through your
District. I am very pleased with it, but I cannot be free
from some mortification. For the past several hundred
