(Extract from Kung Sheung Yat Po, Hong Kong. 30th July 1927)
Telegram in the midst of a prayer for Tseung (Kai Shek)
urging that he and Li (Chai Sham) be punished.
Yesterday during the progress of the "Grand
Conference of all classes in Kwangtung for praying for the success of Generalissimo Tseung in his Northern Expedition", the Communists under the names of seven leading labour
associations circulated a printed telegram urging and supporting an expedition for the punishment of Tseung and Li. They sent men to the premises where the Conference was being
held to distribute such circulars when opportunity permitted
This became known to the troops and police who at once went
in different directions to arrest them. But the men fled.
into the crowds, and made good their escape. At that time nobody dated to pick up the reactionary handbills, which were finally all collected by the pickets. Our own correspondent (in Canton) secured after some trouble a copy
of it, and we now publish it below:-
