With regard to Soviet Russia he said, "We

were, and we are, friendly towards Russia, Russia has

treated China as an equal, and we regard them as our

friends. Our country has been treated as an inferior

nation by all the foreign nations, except Russie, but if

any nations will treat us equally we will also take them

as our friends."

Reuters Correspondent "What is the Canton

Government's attitude towards Mr. Tom Mann?" Mr. Lien's

reply "We did not pay much attention to him.'

question, "What is your attitude towards this paper ?"
