Cheung when he was in Peking. Several months ago Hung came down to the South as representative of Fung, and then went to Hankow from Canton and had dealings with the officials of the Nationalist Government there. His recent appointment to this important post is of course because T. V. Soong cannot return to Canton, and must find a suitable man to take his place. And as Hung is at the same time his close relative, he has raised no objection to the appointment. But the principal reason is that the Nationalist Government and Chang Kai Shek have made up their minds to ally themselves closely with Fung Yuk Cheung, and therefore this important post was given to his representative in order that Fung would be willing to devote all his energies to the service of the
Nationalist Government.
