S the dominating class. During the past century capitalism has been developed to an extreme degree, and the Imperialists, taking advantage of the priestly class as their spear and

soldiers, guns and warships as their shield, have carried

straight on till they achieved their end of complete control

in administration and the direction which civilisation is to

take.

"Europe though not so large as China, has not

sufficient resources in itself to maintain so many cruel and rapacious Imperialists. So besides falling out among them-

selves they have striven to extend their influence to other

parts of the world. Africa, America, Australia and Asia have

become their colonies or semi-colonies one after another.

Within the past 50 years Japan which used to be one of the oppressed countries, secured her own elevation to the position of dominant power. The so-called East (East Asia) has thus been entirely reduced to the position of being the colonies and semi-colonies of the Imperialists of Britain, Japan, France and Holland. Our masses in India, Burma, Cochin-China and Kor Korea should realise how brutally we have been oppressed by the Imperialists of Britain, France and Japan. They have deprived us of the rights of freedom of assembly, speech and the press. They have schemed to mislead us, and cause dissension among us. They have even gone so far as to plot the complete wiping out of our whole race. The masses in China and Siam, and especially our Chinese in the various semi- colonies, should ask themselves what have been the fruits of the policy of encroachment followed by the Imperialists in the past 80 years. The masses of the whole of China have been suffering and groaning under the yoke of the unequal treaties. On the one hand they have fostered the militarists, allied them- selves with local scoundrels, and prolonged our internal troubles, and on the other they have increased their own
