Opening of the Conference.
The Conference was opened about 2 o'clock in the
afternoon. Tong Ngoi Luk took the chair, and Chang Li Tong acted as Clerk. The Chairman delivered a speech of welcome
which was translated by an Indian named Lai Yuen Sang. Tse
Yuen Ting then made a report of the work that had been done preparatory to the Conference, saying arrangements for the opening of this Conference were first made 2 weeks ago. Some
Indian comrades have joined our Kuomintang to assist in the
opposition against the British. But the Chinese Kuomintang was organised particularly for the Chinese National Revolution.
Our Indian comrades have not been naturalised as Chinese, and
thus there is here some slight inconsistency with the rules of
the Kuomintang. But we cannot neglect the oppression they
have been subjected to and the zealous enthusiasm they have
shown for us. We therefore proposed to organise a World
Revolutionary Union, and it has now been definitely established,
though arrangements had previously been made on three different
occasions.
