in Hong Kong in cormemoration of our late Revolutionary
Leader. Our Union has asked the Nationalist Government
to make a grave protest but the cruel Imperialists in
Hong Kong took no heed of it. When the memorial service
was held, they sent several thousands of armed British
troops and policemen to surround the meeting place as
if they were about to engage with a great enemy. They drove out all those who made speeches, and dispersed
the meeting by force making the enthusiastic audience
run about and cry so bitterly that their noice shook
the place. Anybody would have felt sad at heart who
heard it, and would have shed tears when he saw the
scene. But it was a pity that the mass there was totally
unarmed at that time, and therefore dared not engage in
a life or death fight with them. Hereafter our Chinese
in Hong Kong must unite themselves in a body and stand
together so as to be prepared to fight a decisive battle.
Fearing that people in our country and the
world may be ignorant of the facts, our Union now
publishes the crimes of the British Imperialists in
Hong Kong hoping that in the interests of our race and
humanity all will render assistance with all their
power. This is our earnest hope. We send this filled
with feelings of anger, and we hope that all of you
will kindly devote your earnest attention to it.
General Labour Union of Hong Kong.
