ENCLOSURE NO. 4.
(Extract from Wa Tsz Yat Po, Hong Kong. 28th March, 1927)
Ergent telegram by Cheung Chung Ching (Cheung Kai-shek)
to the Central Executive Committee.
Cheung Chung Ching sent an urgent telegram from Nanchang
to the Central Executive Committee on the 14th March. We
have secured a copy of it, and now we publish it below:-
President Tam (Yin Hoi) for transmission to the Central
Executive Committee.
I have received a telegram from the Kuomintang Municipal Department at Changsha which reads as follows:-
"To
Generalissimo Cheung at Nanchang.
"It was unanimously resolved some time ago by our
Kuomintang to welcome the return of Wong Ching Wai to resume
his office and to remove our capital to Wuhan. But already
a long time has elapsed and President Wong has not yet
returned and President Tam still remains at Nanchang. We
cannot understand the delay and we hope you will give us
an explanation.
"It has appeared in the Press that Tai Tin Chau and
Ng Tit Shing have been sent to Japan on a mission for you,
and it is said that Chang Tso-lin of Mukden has offered you
the Vice-Presidency of China and the post of Inspector-
General of 9 Provinces. Different sorts of rumours have been
persistent, and we cannot tell whether they are true or
false. We are anxious to get a definite statement of policy
from you.
"Cheung Tsing Kong has usurped the authority of the
Kuomintang, and has acted contrary to what is right. The
masses in various places have risen in a movement for the
salvation of our Party and made a demand for his expulsion.
