subjected to all sorts of national oppression, and what is
worse, they have also to suffer oppression on account of the
unequal status of males and females. By the Constitution
of our Kuomintang Party, we advocate the equal status of
males and females, and have prescribed for such equality in
all kinds of litigation. That the legal status of both sexes is equal has been officially published at Canton. So now all women can enjoy equality socially and individually,
and in civil and criminal law. All women in the provinces
under the National Government have secured their emancipation
But of course we cannot leave the women of other provinces
to pass a miserable life of oppression. Hy dear sisters!
You should realize that you must fight for your own rights.
It will not do to rely on the favour of others. Let me suggest to you what you should do. You should lose no time in flocking to the Flag of the Blue Sky and White Sun, and
taking up your revolutionary work. Many of you might have realized this, but as you have not had any experience or training in it, you have been loth to come forward. Therefore I have established in Hu-peh with my comrades the Kuomintang Women's Training Class to train all of you in the work of the Party in politics and other useful branches of knowledge to promote the good of yourselves and our race. My dear sisters I pray with all sincerity that all of you will rise and fight vigorously, and will not hesitate to involve yourselves in the hard work. All my ambitious fellow-country women! You can some and receive training if you please.
