Later the la Kwan Treaty was made, and by this the foreigners

were empowered to established factories in our country. Then

the Sine-English Treaty was renewed in the 28th year of

Kwong Sui (1902) and the Sino-Japanese Treaty made in the

29th year (1903), which again deprived China of many

privileges, and under which extra-territoriality developed

rapidly and the Concessions were extended greatly,

aggravating the danger to the livelihood of our people. In

we have, our country has been reduced to poverty, and nobody

can get any enjoyment out of his life. Our workmen work as

hard as horses and bullocks for the foreigners, yet the

Imperialists kill our people as they like. For instances

we can quote the incidents of May 30th at Shanghai, of June

22nd at Sha-ki and that which recently took place in Wanhsien

And all these acts committed by the Imperialists were intend-

ed to stir up trouble. In fact they have been treating us

as savages. Is it not intolerable? In view of our position being so precarious, we cannot but resort to revolution. All the militarists can do is to squeeze money from the people,

without giving them any protection. On the contrary, they

act as tame dogs to the Imperialists and as their tools for

oppressing our people. Therefore our race cannot survive in

the present world, unless we unite ourselves to overthrow

Imperialism, In order to overthrow Imperialism, we must fir-

st ove throw the Militarists who are tools of the Imperialists

Now our Revolutionary Army under the directions given by Mr.

Sun, leader of the Kuomintang, China, has overthrown a

portion of the Militarists. We have won great successes,

and before long we shall accomplish our National Revolution. I pity my fellow-country women very much. They have been

subjected
