butcheries committed by the British Imperialists in China. (b) Purpose of the Butchery.

The traditional policy of the British Imperialists towards China as exemplified in the incidents related above and the harsh manner in which they have encroached, afford proof that the recent butchery had for its objects

(1) To continue and intensify their high-handed

policy towards China.

(2) To make a last desperate attempt in view of

the growing force of the National Revolution

and of the collapse of their tools, the

Militarists.

(3) By direct action to cause a tumult in the Capital

of the Chinese Revolutionaries. This is on the

same lines as the plot of the Japanese

Imperialists who bombarded Taku and forced the Nationalist troops to retreat.

But of late, the Chinese revolutionary influence has been unified and grow strong, and in reality the English Imperialists can no longer do anything against it. Therefore though the tragedy on May 30th and the murders at Hankow and

Kiu-kiɛng had the same purpose, yet the results have been different. The cruel acts of the Imperialists will only increase the power of the Chinese people to overthrow the English.

4. Our policy towards the British Imperialists.

(1) To point out to the people the cruel acts they

have committed in China, so as to develop the

Anti-British movement.

(2) To urge the National Goverment to take serious

steps to get the 8 demands put forward by the

masses on account of the Hankow tragedy, realized

and the sad affairs of May the 30th and June the

23rd settled.
