Later Tse Shu Tong rose and said, "Seeing that you strikers have willingly made every sacrifice in your (patriotic ) movement, and have returned to your country for several months since the strike, we who have much regard for our fatherland, have formed the Fraternity Party within the shortest time, and have returned to Canton to see you with all sincerity, in order to clear away all misunderstanding. Now we have achieved our end of getting the workmen and merchants of Canton and Hongkong to shake hands and to work
together, and we hope that you workmen will exert yourselves in your (patriotic movement)? We have not much time today
for a long conversation, and I now be to read before you
strikers our compliments."
After the address had been read, Ko Cham
accepted it and handed it over to So Shiu Ching. Then
Wong Kam Yuen, member of the Picket Committee, took the
representatives to have an inspection of the Picket Committee Office, Strikers Tribunal, Traffic Office,
correspondence Office and other Departments.
After this,
the Representatives were led to the open ground of Tung
Yuen in a procession. Again the band played; then the
Pickets went through a series of parades and a photo was
taken of the gathering, before it dispersed. After leaving
Tung Yuen, the Representatives paid a visit to the Committee
of the Strike Alliance.
