If our enemies have found any fault with us, they should

attack us directly. Why did they not attack the members of

the Political Committee who have the right to vote, but on

the contrary attacked our comrade who has only the right to

make suggestions at Committee meeting?

After all, why have our Russian members come to help

Cavour and Garibaldi. Garibaldi was an Italian revolution-

ist. He fled to South America, helped the people there in

their revolutionary work, and became Commander-in-Chief of

their Revolutionary Army. What was it that made him do so?

There is saying of our own country - "Help to make the rough

places plain wherever you find them." This is the spirit of

a revolutionist. In the independence of America against

England, the French revolutionist Lafayette rendered no

small assistance. Lafayette fled to America because he

could not be active under the despotic Government of France.

He helped the Americans in their revolution, and became

their General. After the accomplishment of the American

revolution, the Americans made a statue of him and sent it

to France in his memory, and at the same time a statue was

erected in America in his remembrance. On every anniversary

of the Independence Day of America, the President attends

the statue and pays tribute to the original. This shows

how dearly the Americans keep General Lafayette in their

memory. But what made Lafayette help the Americans? He

was a revolutionist, and as he could not succeed in his

revolution in France, he fled to America, and helped the

Americans to accomplish their revolution. In so doing, he

had a hope that on the one hand America would succeed in her

revolution with his energetic assistance, and that on the
