I am directed by Hr. Secretary Amery to
acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 9th of
October regarding your late husbands contributions to
the Hongkong Widows and Orphans Pension Fund.
In reply I am to inform you that a
communication has been received from the Governor, but
that it has been found necessary to refer to him again
on the matter. Until his further reply is received,
which is not expected until December, the Secretary of
State regrets that he is unable to say whether it will
be possible to meet your wishes.
