I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt

of your despatch No.318 dated 21st September, 1926,

concerning the application of the Widows' and Urphans'

Pension Urdinance 1908 to the case of Mrs. Wheal, and to

enclose copies of an opinion given by the Crown Solicitor,

Mr. H. K. Holmes.

If Mr. Holmes view is accepted as correct,

it will be seen that Mrs. Wheal is entitled to a pension

under the Urdinance, and in that case the information

requested in my despatch No.337 of 21st July will be

necessary for the calculation of the pension.
