With reference to your telegram of the 20th
of May and previous correspondence in regard to the seizure of a consigment of drugs on the S.B. "ARBON Maru". I have the honour to tranmit to you, for your consideration, the secompanying copy of a letter addressed to the ilome office by the General Agents for the Osaka Showan Kaisha, protesting against the prosecution of the waster and asking that his conviction may be annulled.
2. In this connection, I would refer you to my telegram of the 26th of June, 19, and my despatch of the 20th of July, in regard to the prosecution of the Masters of the 5.53. "Harune Zeru" and "Havestein”. Although, so far as i sa avere, the Home Uffios have not received the same kind of assistance from the officers of the Csaka Shosen Xaisha as they have in many cases received from the officers of the Kipon Tusen Kaisha, the circumstances in regard to the prosecution of the aster of the "Amazon iaru”

to be sufficiently similar to the sireumstances in regarɑ to the prosecution of the Masters of the
"Haruna Karu" and the "Mavestein" as to justify the
