the 26th of June, 1925, and my despatch of
the 25th of July, in regard to the
prosecution of the asters of the s.88.
(25951/25)
(32183/25)
1 Haruna Maru' and 1 Havestein'.
Although,
so far as I am aware, the Home Office
:
have not received the same kind of
assistance from the officers of the
Osaka Shosen Kaisha as they have in
many cases received from the officers of
the Nipon Yusen Kaisha, the circumstanc
in regard to the prosecution of the
Master
the 'Amazon Maru' appear to be
sufficiently similar to the circumstances
in regard to the prosecution of the
Masters of the Haruna Maru' and the
'Havestein' to justify the same treatment
being accorded to him. Unless, therefore,
there is any reason to suspect the Master
of the Amazon Maru of complicity in the
illicit traffic in drugs, I suggest, for
your consideration, that the fine should
be remitted.
I have, etc.,
