With reference to the letter from your

Department of the 12th of January No.083/5458 (C.1.)

and previous correspondence in regard to Piracy in

waters adjacent to the Colony of Hong Kong, I am

directed by Mr. Secretary Auery to transmit to you to be laid before the Army Council the accompanying

copies of the Notes of the Keeting which was held at

this Office on the 13th of January, and of a letter

which has now been addressed to the Admiralty on

this subject.

Draft despatches which, subject to the

concurrence of the Departments concerned, Mr. Amery

proposes to address to the Governor of Hong Kong,

are also enclosed. I am to enquire whether the Army

Council concurs in the terms of these draft despatches.
