Conditions which My Lords consider very desirable, although not essential, are as follows :-
(f)
An oil fuel pipe line of adequate size to be laid along the whole length of the proposed new pier and connected to the Naval Oil Fuel Installatien.
(g)
A fresh water main connected to some existing sour ca of supply to be laid along the pier.
(h) The inner wall of the Boat basin at the proposed pier
to be straightened out and so arranged that lighters
could lie alongside.
5. I am therefore to state that if the Colonial Office are prepared to recommend that the scheme should be approved, My Lords would be glad if instructions could be issued that the work referred to at (a), (b) and (c) in paragraph 3 is to be subject to Admiralty approval after the settlement of details with the local Naval Officers who should be consulted with regard to the carrying out of the work referred to in paragroch if the Company agree to the latter Conditions.
6. The Naval Commander-in-Chief, China, is being instructed to inform the Company that My Lords will not oppose the erection of the jetty in the position shown on the plan but certain Conditions will be necessary in, Naval interests and the Admiralty are in communication with the Colonial Office) with regard to those conditions.

asino ledge the receipt of your letter of the 11th of Jebruary (0,k,in C.3195/26/21^) in regard to measures
suggested in consequence of a proposal made by the
Hong Kong and Kowloon Wharf and Gedown Company Lizited for the erection of a pier adjourning/the Naval Yard
at Ke::losa.
3. i am to request you to inform the Lorde
Commissioners of the Admimity that it is necessary to
refer the matter to the Goverment of long kong,
and that a copy of your letter is accordingly being
sent to the Governor for his consideration.
