52 Extract from Kung Sheung Yat Po, Hong Kong, 1st Nov.1926.

The Chambers of Commerce will send students and

workmen to make enquiries into goods from house to

house.

Yesterday the 5 Chambers of Commerce circulated

a letter to various shops in Canton, notifying them

that enquiries as to British goods in the City would

be started. We learn that it has been arrnsged that

this work should be undertaken by students and work-

men. A printed form will be served on all shops for

them to fill in, and due explanation will be given them. Each student or workman who is engaged in en-

quiry work, will be paid a travelling expense of 20

cents a day.

From another Correspondent.

The Enquiry Pickets are proceeding with their

work in various Police Districts, and it has been

decided that the work should be completed within

one month. As to organization, there will be 12

pickets. Each picket will be led by a Commander,

and may consist of any number of men the Cormanders

may choose, probably several tens or about ten, but

the total number of arm for all the pickets will not

exceed 300. Each man will be paid 20 cents a day as travelling expense. They will start work in Police

Districts, Nos.1 to 6 first, and then proceed to other

districts according to proper order. Two pickets will

be sent for each district, and associations which have

taken resposibility for enquiry work are as follows:-

District. Picket

Association responsible.

Canton Municipal Students' Associa-

tion and Chung Shan University
