yield us about $10,000,000 a year. It will be devoted to the relief of the strikers, and enterprises in connection with communications and constructions, such as opening of Whampoa as commercial port and completion of the Canton-Hankow railway. These two enterprises will give work to 100,000 or 80,000 workmen, and will constitute an enormous economic benefit for our country. On their accomplishment we shall be free from the economic pressure of Hong Kong and become indipendent of her. Therefore to secure economic independence, we must first acquire independence of comanication.

On account of the lack of time it was announced last week that the joint conference of the Central Executive Committee and the Provincial Executive Committee, had been postponed to the 10th October or several days still later, if found necessary. The subjects to be discussed at this Conference are chiefly concerned with the re-constructive work of the Revolutionists of China, and therefore it is of paramount importance. I hope in earnest that all members of the funicipal Department will have some proposals to lay before it, and take keen interest in its proceedings. This is roughly all I have to Bay regarding our political activity during the past week.
