upon rail-head at P'ing-hsiang. General Cheung Kai-shek is said to be at Li-ling, near which point a battle is expected to take place. Thus on the Yangtaze the southerners are threatened from the east, the west and the north, while their long line of commications through Hunan is also menaced. Any serious disaster to the Cantonese expeditionary force would very probably be followed by a change of Government at Canton.
