Manifesto of Ho Ying Yam to his lat Army Corps.

General Ho Ying Yam has had several tens of thousands of copies of his manifesto printed and dis- tributed among his soldiers. The gist of the manifesto is as follows:-

As the recent Northern Expedition has for its chief object the overthrow of Tu Pei-fu, our Party treata as friends any party in the country, who are opposed to him, and as enemies, those who adhere to kim, When our forces first invaded Human our government behaved in a most lenient manner towards Fukien and Kiangsi. But Chau (Yam Yan) of Fukien was ready to assume the role of Wu's vulture and jackal, and as soon as out Northern Expedition made a move, showed himself eager to sneak into Chiu Chow and Mui Yuen. In order that he might be brought to his sences, I tried hard to put him into the right course and held out the hand of friendship to him. Unarpentedly, Chau, prompted by his unchecked ambition, has actually cut himself off from his fellow-countrymen, and willingly worked for Wu all the time. Then we were capturing Wu-chang and Bankow, and defeating Wu, he not only moblized his troops at Yiu Ping and Shiu Mo in order to enter Kiangai and attack us on the flank, but he also sent his tame dogs Cheung Ngai and Lau Tsun to gather their troops
